TabCon is managed by Torger Børresen, Ph.D. His qualifications are summarised as:

Leadership qualifications within technical science management includes corporate management of units with 50-100 employees, management of collaboration projects between universities and industries, management of a virtual research centre with seven institute and industry partners, management of a complex, international research programme with 200 participants and 70 partners in 17 countries. Experience from extensive fundraising nationally, Nordic and within the EU. Specialist knowledge on EU’s research programmes and application procedures. Innovation experience obtained by handling inventions, patents and spin-outs. Extensive teaching at university level with e.g. supervising 20 Ph.D. students. Experience in written communication containing approx.130 publications, reports and popular scientific articles. Experience in verbal communication with more than 150 presentations, interviews, moderations and negotiations. Extensive research counselling in approx. 80 boards and committees, plus research evaluations. Key scientific competence within marine biotechnology and seafood science, and general competence within food technology, processing and production. Analytical skills, fairness and good collaboration skills are included in the personal competences. He is further keen on taking new initiatives, work independently and retain the overview under stress and in a hectic work environment.
